Concrete and dirt hit the weight allowance long before the container looks full. Here's how heavy debris really works in a Corpus Christi dumpster rental.

Heavy jobs fill up by weight, not by volume

This is the one thing that surprises people most. With a normal cleanout you run out of room before you run out of weight. With concrete, brick, dirt, or a multi-layer roof tear-off, it's backwards — the container can look a third full and already be at its limit. Nobody's done anything wrong when that happens. It's just what dense material does.

What the allowance actually is

Both our sizes come with a 2-ton (4,000 lb) weight allowance included in the flat price — $400 for the 15-yard, $450 for the 20-yard. That's an allowance, not a hard cutoff and not unlimited. Go past it and the landfill charges overage on the extra tonnage. We don't mark that up into a mystery fee; we tell you it exists and what it means for your specific load.

Which materials to watch

Concrete, brick, block, mortar, tile, stone, dirt and sod are the heavy hitters. Roofing is the sneaky one — a single layer of shingles off a small roof is usually fine, but a second or third layer stacks weight in a hurry. Wet material counts too. Anything sitting outside through a Coastal Bend rain comes back heavier than it went out.

How we handle it up front

When you describe the job on the phone, tell us if there's concrete, dirt, or a multi-layer roof involved. If it sounds like it could run heavy, we'll say so before you book — not after the fact on an invoice. That conversation takes about thirty seconds and it's the difference between flat pricing that means something and flat pricing with an asterisk.

Sometimes the smaller container is the right call

This surprises people, but for a pure concrete or dirt job the 15-yard is often the better choice. You'll reach the weight allowance well before you fill either size, so paying for the bigger box buys you room you can't legally use. We'd rather point you at the $400 container and have you come back than sell you the $450 one for no reason.
